About Us

Hannah Hagenau started this project in 2015 after a group from her church, Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church (MVPC), returned from a mission trip in Zambia. They informed the congregation of a request from their sister church, Garden Presbyterian, to help them support the graduates from their primary school. The only affordable high school in the area is too far to walk, and none of the students had bikes or cars. Public schools are not free in Zambia and the tuition was too high for many of the students to pay. Hannah decided to take charge and raise money to pay for the tuition of their high school education. Over the last seven years, Hannah has successfully fundraised enough money to support any student who requested financial aid for their tuition. This program supports around 30 students every year and Hannah has personally met almost all of these students. Several of the program's graduates have even gone on to earn college degrees!
